I always have this for flight planning and situational awareness. Very smooth and lots of features. Tech support is very responsive

I absolutely love this app. Im a pilot in training and cannot justify the high prices some other apps demand.... and wouldnt even consider it after discovering this gem. Thank you so much for creating and supporting such a great flying app - I love being able to use this app while flying and while simulating flights in x-plane. Thanks !!!!!
Absolutely awesome app! Incredibly well organized and thorough, plus you cant beat the price!
First and foremost, this is an amazing app for free. Lots of great features: free geo-referenced sectionals, en route and approach charts. Compares favorably to Garmin Pilot for $150/year. Lacks terrain and obstacle data and warnings. Also no synthetic vision, attitude indicator or other AHRS features. Reportedly works with a number of external gps units but not with the Garmin GDL 39. Not sure if it supports ADS-B in features such as weather and traffic. Not surprised for a free app. The most puzzling thing for me is that despite its name, there is no flight planning or editing in the app itself. You need to do all that on the website, and I find the website planning to be frequently confusing and un-intuitive. If you can stifle yourself long enough to learn the web planner, it does a great job and produces nice flight logs. If you have room on your device, its a no brainer to install and use as a backup, if nothing else. However, avoiding frustration and enjoying the benefits of a top-tier aviation app is worth the $150 for me. I have been using Garmin Pilot for two years. It started out with lots of rough edges and bugs, but has evolved into a first class all-purpose aviation app. Many of my friends use ForeFlight, which seems to match Garmin feature-for-feature. My net recommendation is to flip a coin, or whatever, and choose either Garmin Pilot or ForeFlight, spend the $75-150 per year and enjoy the amazing features and utility that was unimaginable only a few years ago. If you absolutely cant afford that, or wont, then use the free app and resign yourself to limited features and utility. Having one of these EFB products on board is absolutely mandatory.
I have been flying from Canada with fltplan for many years and I love the new Go app. It is rapidly catching up with the competition with each iteration yet is 100% subscription free. It provides every chart/reference product I could want in the US/Canada which means more of my money can be spent doing what I love - flying!
Hud display not showing on iPhone 5s. Where can I find that option ? Other than that its great
As a professional pilot I can say that is is the best app out there for pilots. Forefight is a good competitor but for $199 all it really does is translate meters. Flight plan does everything that foreflight does just better and best all of flight plan is free. Which makes it the best option by far.
I love that this app is free and has many features that help it compete with the paid apps. My only problem, and it happens with the iphone and tablet, is that I often have to download the new charts twice (sectionals usually). This means as a standard part of my preflight I will update maps then upon checking when the download has completed, that I still have the expired charts! If I otherwise trusted the app I would end up flying on old charts. Its my only gripe but I feel its fairly serious. Fortunately its easy to check that the charts are current, and I have never had a problem in the aircraft with this app and I do trust it.
I like this app a lot. It has way more than the orginal app but still has some issues. The main two problems I have in the Map tab: if you select the TFR overlay with a checkmark, it doesnt show the TFR areas. If you deselect in the overlay menu, the TFRs show up. Also, selecting the TFRs on the map brings up information but you can not scroll through that info and the info is not real specific.
This is great app and tool, but it crashing everytime I click on Map
Will not load with IOS 8 on the iPad. Please fix. I use this app all the time. Best app ever but is useless now. How long before it will work on iOS 8 ? It wont load. It just goes blank
Ouch, a few regressions on the latest update. Maps: edit a route, click any existing navaid and it will lock you in the "before after" screen. Binders. Same issue. No way out of screen when selecting a binder. Needs work, a roll back would be better than this version. Referring to iPhone version.
Navlogs dont work
Agree with other reviews. I was enjoying this app for its functionality and the fact that it was free, but this latest update has caused numerous issues. You get locked in the route edit page, multiple times the map layers have loaded on a 45-degree skew, constantly freezes and shuts down.
Freezes, freezes, freezes on my IPhone 6. Not usable. Please fix this.
I would like to add to the other reviewer on here who stated earlier... The app does not let you exit the binder screen, the edit route screen, and anytime you open the AFD, the whole app crashes. Too buggy to depend on for navigation right now. Generally this is a good app. But the last 2 versions have been junk. The iPad app is fine. But this version of the iPhone app is not a dependable backup.
Update was mainly for a HUD. Dont see it in maps. No real user manual or support for the iPhones version of the app.
I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of information this app provides. It even includes E6-B tools to help calculate cross winds and fuel consumption. From Notams to the airport information you need is all there. The only thing I did notice is that there was that the airport maps dont have the taxiway information. This would be mighty helpful when at an unfamiliar airport with a controlled tower and theyre giving you one heck of a taxi route to GA parking.Other than that it is an astounding app for pilots.
Wow! The new update was great I really love the new look of the app, its phenomenal. The app works great on my iPhone 6 Plus. Everything is so fluid and stylish. There are still a few small bugs and there are a few features it doesnt have that the iPad version does. For example it lacks the Ruler feature from the iPad version.
Its great I can view my flight info from my iPhone and iPad.
